National Summer Training Courses (NSTC) - 2023

Important Deadlines:
  • Full list of dates found here (Cadet 365 required)
  • December 9 – Submission of NSTC choice to squadron for review
  • January – PPS/GPS Qualifying Exam
  • February 9 – Submission of application (online form, report card) to squadron 
  • February 10 – Application due to RCSU by Squadron (Fortress & Report Cards)
  • February 14 - RCSU processing of applications
  • March 11-12 – Okanagan Wing Review Boards
  • April 6– Selections announced
  • June 1 – Category 3 medical certificates due to RCSU by Squadron
  • June 1 – Selected GPS/PPS Cadets must meet height/weight requirements
The National Course Selection Process for 2023 has begun! At this time we are accepting submissions for the following courses ONLY:
  • International Air Cadet Exchange (IACE) - 2-3 weeks

  • Power Pilot Training Course (PPTC) - 7 weeks (748514)

To submit your choices, please complete the form on the right of your screen. To apply for these courses, you must:
  • Be available for the full duration of the course;
  • Have written parental/guardian consent (if not yet reached 18 years of age);
  • Be medically and dentally fit and have no medication restrictions that would preclude them from participating in the course; and
  • Be recommended by their Squadron CO.
Further, you must currently be in level 3 and must successfully complete level 3 by the end of this training year. Although completion of level 3 allows you to apply for the national courses, this process is highly competitive and the successful applicants are usually level 4’s and 5’s. Your choices must be made no later than  February 9, 2023 - midnight.  Any requests after this date will not be accepted. The application process involves multiple steps and will require specific documentation to be provided. We ask that you check your emails daily throughout the process and ensure you reply in a timely manner.

There is no limit on the number of cadets per squadron who can write the qualifying exam. The full application process can be found here. 
Ensure you read the CJCR Gp Order 8060-7 - Air Cadet National Summer Training Course Selection Process​ in full to ensure you know the required documents for the specific course you are applying for. Late submissions will not be accepted.
The following documents are required (timelines below):
  • School report card (last full year)
  • TC CAT 3 Medical
  • Passport photo X 2 (not required if already hold a current Aviation Document Booklet)

Selection Process:
The selection process, depending on the specific course, is comprised of two or three assessment factors, each worth a set percentage of the cadet's final score.
